It is long renowned for sourcing, manufacturing and distributing a wide range of bakery ingredients and yeast products. Founded in Edinburgh as James Fleming & Co, milling sugar, spices and marzipans

1960

Merged with local wholesaler Thomas Howden

Two distinct business strands at that stage:

โ€“ Fleming Howden: wholesaling to the bakery industry and food service trade

1983

Began blending pre-mixes

1988

Acquisition by Dalgety Food Ingredients and became part of Spillers Milling

1991

James Fleming acquired by Lebbe

1998

Fleming Howden acquired by Rank Hovis

2004

Leith site sold as Fleming Howden relocate to current Newbridge Site

2006

Rank Hovis acquired by Premier Foods

2018

Fleming Howden acquired by AB MAURI
